An Interesting Article

Thanks to Mark Iles i found this very interesting article that has alot of relevance to my last post, it's almost verbatim in the example of Les Miserable, you'll just have to take me at my word that i didn't read this first!!

  1. This is a really interesting article. Thanks Sandy. I'm really excited about seeing London Road to see if it is something that would be able to take musical theatre in a new direction (even if they're too scared to admit it is a musical). I was saying somewhere on someone's blog or SIG (can't remember who) that I think the smaller venues like the donmar and the chocolate factory and he national (technically not small but not commercial either) are probably the venues that will save musical theatre. I think because they produce shows that they never intend to run for long periods of time they are more able to take risks. If they produce a flop it was only meant to run for three months anyway so it is no great financial loss.
